RANGERS GIVEN ANOTHER HIDING AT PARKHEAD

Celtic gave their closest challengers another hiding in the Premiership earlier this afternoon, last season's Europa League finalists were dismantled with a breathless display of fine attacking football.

The champions were different class in every department today, with Liel Abada starting the rout as he stabbed the ball home following a quick throw-in, which was followed by a quickly taken free-kick ending with Jota dinking over Rangers keeper Jon McLaughlin.

Abada made it 3-0 before half-time after Rangers once again switched off at a throw-in, and their horror was compounded by goalkeeper McLaughlin passing to Celtic's David Turnbull after the break, who gracefully accepted the invitation and slotted home Celtic's fourth.

The win moves the Bhoys five points clear of the Huns at the top of the league after just six games, with a goal difference of +24.

Celtic have been firing on all cylinders since the start of the season, having hit nine against Dundee United last week, before putting four past Ross County on Wednesday in the League Cup despite making nine changes.

And the team managed to soldier on after the loss of star striker Kyogo Furuhashi after only three minutes at a rocking Celtic Park to run rings around Rangers in the first 45 minutes.

Many of Rangers' players had never sampled this kind of atmosphere before and it showed, to say the least! Even some their seasoned campaigners looked shellshocked amid the febrile Parkhead atmosphere.

When Morelos was brought on as a second half sub, he was pictured standing on the touchline, slack-jawed and staring at the spectacle as it unfolded around him, characterising the sort of glaikit look that's become all too familiar among Rangers players visiting Celtic Park these days.

Last season's Champions League winners, Real Madrid are next up for Celtic on Tuesday night, and on this form it's shaping up to be a cracker.
