TALKSPORT HOST: "RANGERS WILL GET A HIDING AT PARKHEAD"

Talksport host Simon Jordan expects Celtic to give Rangers "a hiding" when they meet in the first Glasgow derby of the season on Saturday. And former Rangers oldco player/manager Graeme Souness amazingly states that if Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team do come unstuck at Parkhead, the Dutchman's jaiket could be on a shoogly peg.

Unbelievable commentary from Sourness, considering van Honckenburst had just guided them to a European final, albeit a losing one, and into this season's UEFA Champions League group stages, where they'll come up against Dutch cracks Ajax, Italian outfit Napoli and Liverpool FC, last season's runners up. Lol.

One has to wonder if Sourness and his media mates from south of the border aren't at it, perhaps some wishful attempt to motivate the Huns, in a bid to aid them in the 30th Glasgow derby since the old Rangers FC were liquidated.

The two sides have started the season well but it's the Bhoys who go into the match with a one hundred per cent league record after Sunday's record-breaking 9-0 win at Dundee United put them two points clear of the Huns at the top. They meet at Celtic Park this weekend with Ange Postecoglou 's team favourites after back to back derby wins in February and April helped clinch last season's Premiership crown.

Rangers quite fortunately won the Scottish Cup derby at Hampden after that and managed to nick a draw in the 29th derby in May. But Jordan, speaking on talkSPORT, fancies Celtic to win comfortably. He said: "I think Celtic will win the league again this year and I think they will hand Rangers a hiding (on Saturday). There were questions about Van Bronckhorst (after the 3-0 in February) and his job wasn't to get to a European final and lose it, his job was to get there and win it."

And former Rangers oldco player/manager Souness reckons if Jordan's prediction proves correct, then Van Bronckhorst could well be under pressure. He said: "If Rangers lose they'd be five points behind Celtic and the pressure would be all on them.

"This is a big game. Going there is difficult. They (Celtic supporters) get behind their team like you wouldn't believe."
