CELTIC ONE STEP CLOSER TO WINNING LEAGUE

Celtic would have looked at the post-split fixtures and possibly considered this one to be the real banana skin.

Away to a highly confident Ross County side who sealed their own history with a top six place under former Celt Malky Mackay.

County were undefeated at home in 11 games, with Glasgow's green & white brigade the only side able to turn them over.

The Global Energy Stadium is a notoriously difficult place to win points at the best of times, but we knew the consequences of failing to do that.

Sevco temporarily narrowed the gap to just three points with a win over an uninspiring Motherwell side yesterday, and had we failed to get anything in the Highlands today then our nails would have been down to the quick come next Sunday.

But goals from Kyogo and Jota - where have we heard that before? - helped seal the deal and won us the points.

One step closer

It was always going to be about the points this afternoon for Celtic heading to a tricky venue.

But we managed to get the win and now head back to Parkhead with all three points and are just a couple of games from taking the league flag back home before preparing for next season's Champions League.

Jota scrambles home in guid auld fashioned goalmouth scrammy

Big Malky's side were never going to be pushovers, especially after sealing their own top six spot for the first time and they welcomed the Bhoys full of confidence.

But Ange Postecoglou's men scored early and then scored late to re-establish a six-point lead. Next up, we have the Huns at home and a win would all but win us the league.

Roll on next Sunday. Hail hail!
