ONE OF OUR OWN | SUPPORTERS HAPPY WITH SIGNING

Luke McCowan could not wipe the smile off his face as he walked down the tunnel at Celtic Park for the first time in the colours of his boyhood idols.

McCowan, a Greenock Bhoy, who grew up supporting Celtic and like every other young Celtic fan, dreamt of one day playing for the club he loves, could be set to make his debut in arguably the biggest club rivalry in World football. Celtic take on Rangers on Sunday afternoon in the first league clash of the season at Parkhead.

Luke's former school took to X to congratulate him on his signing for the champions

A video has emerged of the midfielder walking down the tunnel in Parkhead decked out in the new kit with a big smile on his face before saying; 'Jesus' as the realisation hit him that he had made it (home) to Celtic. After taking it all in with a massive smile, he remarked those around him; "Not bad is it? Not bad."

Brendan Rodgers left it late to secure the services of the Dundee captain as he became signing No.3 of a busy deadline day of ins and outs in Glasgow's east end. The Hoops shelled out big money for Arne Engels from Augsburg and Auston Trusty at Sheffield United to strengthen the engine room and heart of the team with McCowan also coming in to add extra quality in the middle of the park. His transfer fee may not be as costly as that of any of his new team-mates but you can tell it meant every bit as much, if not more, to the Celtic mad player.

The humble reaction of Celtic's newest recruit caught the eye of his new fan base on social media with the punters equally as buzzing for the 26-year-old over his dream move to the champions. He will be eyeing up domestic success in the league and cups this season alongside action in the Champions League as he gets ready to compete at the top level of club football.

One fan wrote: "He's loving it man. Living the dream." Another posted: "That's my favourite signing of the window, you can see what it means to him." A further supporter wrote: "Love how he says 'Jesus'. He's like a wean in a sweetie shop. Love it."
