CELTIC TRANSFER DEAL IS BIG NEWS IN JAPAN

The incoming arrivals of Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi at Celtic are big news over here.

But the triple transfer is so big in Japan that TRAIN passengers were told about it in a platform announcement on Saturday.

Public transport is a bit more advanced in the far east to the point passengers get a live news bulletin when they're riding the bullet.

And in the sports round-up on the 'Train Channel' the three J-League stars making their big move to Scotland took pride of place on an LCD screen.

Maeda, Hatate and Ideguchi were all announced in one dramatic reveal by Celtic on Hogmanay.

Hatate and Ideguchi join on permanent deals from Kawasaki Frontale and Gamba Osaka and have both signed four-and-a-half year deals, keeping them at Parkhead until 2026.

Maeda, meanwhile, is on an initial loan from Yokohama, Ange Postecoglou's former club.

But like Portuguese star Jota, Maeda is likely to become a permanent signing if Celtic like what they see.
